However, if the simple bestial urges overcome them, then the sophistication becomes a poison. If that poison is capable of dominance, then everything in the expression of life suffers. The fantasy is that the sophistication can continue indefinitely to submerge itself.

Further, this circle of understanding is held within a larger circle, and the next larger still, but for our present purposes we can hold to that first circle in order to glimpse the forces in action.
