I liked what you said about the Hispanics/Latinos and the blacks. Nice cats. You remind me about my uncle, but he took are of five cats for several years, indoor. One day I arrived there, because I used to clean the stairs there twice a month, 5 double stairs, as well as his doorkeeper-flat, and there was a lot of grey hair in the sofa, water and blood on the floor, and I was afraid somebody had killed him. He was not there. I was glad when he came home from work elsewhere, and he was laughing because it was just a cat fight. Usually the cats managed to keep quite calm, because they had separate rooms, but he had to close as many doors as possible so that they would survive. But Lucifer and her two daughters stayed in the kitchen-living room because there were no doors. One daughter spent all day up on the shelf, sleeping on the LP-recorder. One very big cat who had lost his ear on the street, he was a street cat, managed to stay with the "girls" without being killed, and a orange male cat stayed all day upon a copy-machine in the hall, making company logos at my uncle's white sheet paper, that was the only thing he knew how to do because he did not dare stepping jumping down on the floor facing Lucifer. Then it was Freke, a male cat sleeping at the bathroom, with an open "window" cat-door into the hall, but he did not dare entering it because Lucifer was there waiting for him, and she was a tough "mom". She was actually my cat, I gave her to him before I went to Bible school in Sweden. He named her.

:) And you are not female. My uncle got it wrong. The female cat upon the wall was Frøya, then there was "Ulven"; the Wolf, whom he for years thought was a she but he was a male without "nuts". But there were two name changes, since 1-2 veterinaries were confused about the gender so he went from being "Ulven" to "Jomfruen/The Virgin", but when that second veterianary said it was a a he, he named him "The Consultant", since he stood on his table looking at him doing his books. That is when another veterinary said it was a she, so he wanted to change his name. I asked him why change her name? Can a she not be your consultant? (He has never been married). What his last name was, I can't remember.
I'm with you on the middle class, Jack. That's one thing I really like about New Zealand. There is no middle class here to speak of. They've all gone overseas because salaries are higher there (1 million Kiwi live overseas).
I was offered to go out there 25 years ago Stuart to work for a family member and a job for life was stated never need to look for work again sounded good on North Island, I knocked it back without much thought at the time but now I really wonder what can of building work I would have been on ? NZ is a huge area the size of the UK with a population of 3-4 million full time occupants and a lack of housing , a reverse highland clearance is needed where they get rid of the sheep for people lol .
