In David Lynches 2017 magnum opus Twin Peaks the Return Dr. Jacoby begins his webcast as “Dr. Amp.” He is dressed in rags but the overall effect of his ensemble makes him appear like a caricature of an SS officer. His bow tie even has lightning bolts on each side and his glasses with red and blue lenses in the carefully choreographed lighting make it look like he is wearing an eye patch. In the background a mirror reflects the statue of liberty and she appears to be giving a robust Nazi salute just like Elon Musk did right before DOGE began exposing rampant government corruption.. “Its seven o’clock do you know where your freedom is? Coming to you live and electrified from studio A high atop the escarpments on Whitetail Peak, the roof, ruff ruff, of the American Hindu Kush this is Dr. Amp doing the vamp for liberty, climbing the ramp to justice and lighting the lamp of freedom. So, what’s on your mind tonight? You know I’m going to tell you what’s on mine. We’re sinking down into the mud. And the fucks are at it again! The same vast, global corporate conspiracy, different day! You can’t see it without a cosmic flashlight. Guess what? I’ve got one. Oh yeah. And its beam, it penetrates the igneous rock of ignorance. It flips that rock over and there they are, exposed. Wriggling, squirming, crawling on their bellies like foul maggots. Frantically racing back to the cover of darkness that they so crave! We’re coming for you. Yeah, we’re coming for you! Let’s just see what their cooking up today. Know the ingredients. Read what’s on the box, in fact read between the lines. Poisoned!” Spittle now flying from his mouth as fast as his words Dr. Jacoby pauses and sips a concoction he has on the table in front him. “That’s huckleberry extract in clean boiled water from the pure artesian springs of Whitetail Peak. Yea, fuck that Acai berry shit from the Amazon. In the immortal words of Pete Seiger ‘if I had a hammer…’ Guess what? I’ve got a hammer!” Dr. Jacoby holds up a hammer and smashes it against one of his gold shovels he has just suspended in front of him by pulling on a crudely wired prop. It makes a reverberating ringing sound and he continues “you must see, hear, understand and act. Act now!” He ends with a video commercial of himself in waders standing in a mud puddle up to his knees, exhorting his viewers to shovel their way out of the shit. He uses his gold shovel to take a shovel full of mud and toss it aside. The scene switches to one of him standing on the same ground with no mud and he flips a switch on a hand held control box wired up to something the viewers cannot see. An electrical sound commences and he is bathed in golden light. He holds the gold shovel out and says “this is your shiny gold shovel. Two coats, guaranteed. Shovel your way out of the shit and into the truth. Dig yourself out of the shit – 29.99. That’s right only 29.99, plus shipping. Except no substitute. Get yours now.” ⁽¹⁾

The implication of what Dr. Amp is saying should be glaringly clear to anyone who has not been vaccinated against having a soul. But it wasn’t, not even in the pre-vaccination days of 2017 mostly because by then the internet had already been coopted by the alphabet agencies and I was locked out of any discussion about Twin Peaks the Return on social media. The official stance of all Facebook groups devoted to the show was die Glocke was an oversized teapot and I was banned from each and every one of them for saying different.

Amongst the Navajo of Americas Southwest live a caste of priests called the Hopi. When I was a teenage boy the Hopi would hold their Snake Dance at Tanner Park in Copiague right across the canal from the house I grew up in. Many a sultry summer night I fished off our dock for giant Sea Trout in the still air serenaded by their tom toms. Once four of their high priests came into my eighth grade class at St Martin of Tours in full Indian regalia escorted by Father White who in a year or two would be confronted by Beelzebub according to the lore of the Amityville Horror. They were explaining what they were doing on Long Island every summer performing their most sacred ceremony so far from their home in Arizona. At the time like most I wasn’t paying attention. I was only interested in catching a twenty pound trout and engaging in carnal acts with the little blond girl who sat in front of me but I do believe one of the medicine men was Thomas Banyacya, the man who delivers the Navajo prophecy of the Man in the Red Hat:

“Who are those people that are going to purify this land? How they going to do it? So they explained to me. We have a gourd rattle that we still use in our ceremony and that gourd rattle represents the world. On one side of the gourd rattle this figures on the drawing.” The medicine man points to a swastika rotating clockwise.

Then he moves to the other side on the picture and points to the iron cross saying, “on the other side of the gourd rattle this figures on the drawing:

The old man told me whoever has these symbols in this world is going shake us up two times. And it came to me suddenly what nation had symbols similar to these. Because they are going to be very intelligent people. Their going to produce many inventions of all types. Their going to be so powerful that their going to use that to shake us up real hard and their going to almost destroy themselves. But later a new generation is going to rise. This time they will know what to do in the right manner for the right purpose.” Pointing back to the Swastika the medicine man says, “and around it is a sun symbol. Those people are very intelligent that had that symbol. They have invented and produced many things and became powerful. They also are going to shake us up two times. I mean the second time with the help of another. These two shook us up two times real hard warning us and they almost destroyed themselves but another generations are coming with even better equipment. Then the third one will finally bring about purification of this land on this continent. A man with a red hat, red cap or red cloak. Now we do not know who that nation is or what people but they will also have a large population and many scientific inventions of a all types a very powerful nation. Once he starts moving these other two will join him and the three of them are going to come here quickly together and nothing can stop them this time. They say they come here so fast they come for breakfast. It’s a nice clear day today, calm. Tomorrow maybe we get up at breakfast time and the whole sky will be darkened . The old man said he didn’t know what would cause the darkening of the sky. Then he said people will be raining from the sky and in one day their going to get control of this whole continent and their going to cut it up into four sections. Their going to look for a native leader that still remains on the spiritual path and gather the people around him.” The new chief will address the wicked oligarchs and greedy capitalists who have despoiled the land and pronounce their sentence of public beheading. “In daylight right in public they’ll weed out those bad people and chop their heads off. That is what will happen, the first punishment. Then they will say look at these people here but they will say at least they made an attempt to help us. They did try to do something to protect us. They will pull out all those people. They will know. You can’t get away. They have means of knowing. There will be a lot of those people and they will say look you have disturbed this land and the life of these people here. You have polluted their rivers and land now you go and clean it up. Whoever survives out of that will be able to stay with the leader here. Then they will say what about these people. These people have really suffered, been persecuted and laughed at. They’ve been punished and they’ve been beat up because they stood by me. They will pull out those people and they will be brought to him and they will be respected. Thet is what they said will happen when,” he points again to the swastika, “when these people come with this symbol and the man with the red cap they will come from the east where the sun rises. They will come here quickly and they will have something to paralyze all manmade machinery. All power will go out and everything will come to a standstill. The powers that be will be helpless and they will just come and take it over. This is what will happen by those people who come from the eastern direction.” The medicine man says those people have been commissioned by the Great Spirit to clean this up but if they fail, “then the Great Spirit said there will be another people coming from the west direction. They will be coming for a long time and slowly they will be building up power, and more and more people will come with new inventions. If those who the Great Spirit sent to clean up this mess fail, then the people from the west will come. If that happens then you can go to the tops of your houses and watch because millions of people will be landing on the west coast like ants crawling upon the land. They will have no mercy for anyone. They’ll be very cruel and severe. They’re not going to ask questions as to who was on the spiritual path they will just kill everyone. This is what they said will happen…” ⁽²⁾
