Christianity comes to an isolated Eskimo village and utterly destroys it, leaving a trail of corpses and broken lives just as it had done seven hundred years before in the Midi.
When scientists wish to study the effect of a pathogen on animals or people, they isolate a group and subject it to the pathogen. The Belcher Islands in the middle of Hudson Bay have been inhabited for millennium by Inuit or Eskimos who manage to eke out subsistence from their mostly frozen environment. They have little exposure to anyone but each other and are the perfect community to study the effects of Christianity on the human psyche. The end result of this impromptu experiment which took place during the same time as WW II was the “Belcher Islands Massacre…”
